We are getting married soon and I feel like there’s no shame in getting married at a registry office with a reception in a lovely venue. We’ve changed from an all inclusive venue to a registry office and reception wedding, both venues are stunning and cost us less than £2.5k. We’ve not skimped *at all* - we’ve got a photo booth, singer, transport, cake, photographer, videographer and flowers, carvery meal with drink’s included for 80 guests with a graze table reception for 110. We are paying for bridesmaid dresses and hair and makeup for our bridesmaids, both wedding dresses are being bought by our mums but we are paying for everything else ourselves. Wedding is on a Saturday in autumn and our total cost is coming in at £12k. We would’ve really struggled to do that with an all inclusive venue at a barn, stately home or hotel. Some registry offices are stunning - our one is in a park with lots of photo opportunities. It’s not any less of a wedding if it isn’t all inclusive and in one place.

We had a cheese wedding "cake". Different cheeses, spreads, jams and dried fruit. All stacked like a cake. We cut the "cake" right after the ceremony and people could start eating while we took pics in-between. We just served a normal dessert after the meal. People seem to like that.

I keep picturing the bride/groom in the dressing room praying for a sign, but all the signs are being managed and hidden. "Alright I'm ready. Everything is running so smoothly she/he has to be the right one!"

I’m going to be doing pottery painting followed by dinner for my hen do, so I’m definitely on the more relaxed side. I’m also inviting my mum and mother-in-law to be which is maybe a bit more unusual but I’m hoping will be the right choice for me

You didn't include artificial in your suggestions on flowers. What are your thoughts on these? I appreciate they include plastics when made (most of them) but I handmake all my arrangements and panels, re-using flowers and foliage over and over again. I think this is a great way to be eco-friendly and economical 💚 Also, thanks for recommending Confetti Club, I will look into them. What do you think about biodegradable paper confetti 👍🏾 or 👎🏾

Hey, can someone explain this wedding joke to me? I saw this happen in the hall near my brother's wedding reception. A female banquet manager was upset with a caterer, who had signed up for a one-person shift. She said she didn't think he could successfully do the service alone. She was sternly all, "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen. You need someone there to give you instructions and guide you." And then the caterer said, "You know, I'm beginning to see why you manage wedding and receptions." What does his comeback mean? Whats the implied reason?

Wedding is in October 2024. I sent our save the dates out in February 2024. Then, our invitations out in April 2024. Invitation includes our website telling them I'm also planning a bridal shower in July 2024. On top of everything we are expecting in June 2024. Food needs to be in and counted by September so all RSVPS all set for 9/30/24. I didn't think I was too early...

As a cakedesigner I must disagree on the cake 😜 but I do agree that the cake should never be served later then dessert. Anything past that moment is just a waste, cause people want to party and not have sweet stuff anymore Great videos, thanks for the tips❤

Another tip I've heard is to have one person read/listen to both sets of vows. This person can make sure both people match tone, the length is similar, and the same story isn't time in the same way

Hi Lauren, my MOH planned my bachelorette party and did an incredible job. She did a lot of the initial info gathering via a Google form which a lot of the ladies said they really liked the way it was organized and less chatter in a big group and also peoples responses for things like budget etc were just between them and my MOH and not all out in the larger group.

I am planning my own Hen Party we are just going to a Spa 😊. These are new friends I met last year so still getting to know once another.At our weddings its small close family only!♡

Oh! I wish I had this video one year earlier. I love my mom so much and she was amazingly supportive but I was also struggling to find her something to do and ways to get her involved. I kept feeling bad but also at a loss on how else she could help. I was thinking if she could maybe bake some wedding favours but my dad said that would only stress her out unnecessarily. Hi l love you videos We get married in April and my mom has been apart of the entire wedding planning process more than my maid of honour she is witness for the signing of book. My nan is sadly no longer with us but she will be walking down the aisle with me in my bouquet locket and a tartan ribbon in my bouquet which she used to wear that particular colour tartan in her clothes ❤

I will mention here my very favourite suggestion for including mums in a ceremony (if both mums are attending) - get them to be the ringbearers for the ring exchange, instead of the best man/person/whoever. Each mum takes care of their child's wedding ring, and when prompted they give the ring to their child's partner with a hug and a kiss. What says "welcome to the family" more than that?! Let me know if you include this in your wedding ceremony, people! <3

Please could you offer any advice about involving family where it's a very simple elopement style marriage with just the couple on the day itself. What can be done before and after the day to make family feel valued?
